Technology is all around us.

I have been back on Facebook, successfully, today.

Not spoken to the person in question since then. I have profound feelings, to say the least.

Back to technology then.

Just imagine our lives without the technology or should I be more specific without the need of needing any technology at all.

Is it possible at all, after all?

How would your day go?

How would your day look like?

How would your day seem like?

How would your day sound like?

We have been so connected to technology and so sadly, we have been so disconnected from face to face communication, from face to face interaction, from face to face stimulating conversations.

Perhaps sometimes we do not even realize that how much the technology has been influencing us, our lives, the lives of our children, our neighbours’ lives, etc.

Can we just go for a walk without needing any devices at all? How about leaving our mobile phones at home? How about leaving our MP3 players at home? How about leaving our Ipod at home? How long do we think can we survive? Can we even think of it as possible and done?

Can we just listen to the birds singing? Can we just listen to the leaves in the tree and the wind playing their games with them? Can we just listen to the rain’s sound falling down on the ground? Can we just watch snowflakes melting and enjoy the scenery around us? Can we just simply smell the roses and have literally opened all the senses without the need having anything plugged in our ears?

I am not saying technology is no good. I am very well aware of the fact when the technology literally saves our lives without the second notice. Immediately that is.

Computers and laptops on the other hand can make things happen very fast, very quickly, at the rapid speed, right now. The letters may take a couple of days to be delivered, whereas the email can reach the receipt in minutes’ time.

How can you discover about certain topic, about certain subject, about certain issue?

How can you help yourself with your study about certain book if the library is closed?

How can you compare many different tools? How can you research your favourite animal? How and where can you look up about your favourite brand? How and where can you look up about your favourite band? How and where can you listen to your favourite music, to your favourite song?

How and where can you get a discussion started and going?

How and where can you form unbiased opinions?

How and where can you go for an advice from all different sources?

How and where can you get the quickest, the fastest response, ever?

Where can you form and state your opinion?

Where can you use your nickname?

Yes, of course, there are also lots of people out there who uses or shall I say misuses the computers’ advantages. They work for and under the scam cloud and do more harm than one could ever want to imagine.

I believe as long as we find what we are looking for in a speedy way with the greatest results possibly, as long as we do not do any harm to ourselves or the people around us, as long as we are not literally and simply addicted to the use of the internet, to the use of the laptop, to the use of the google, to the use of the computer, to the use of the MP3 player, to the use of the Ipod, we should be on the safe side.

There are lots and lots to gain from proper use of the technology. The misuse could be very damaging and disregarding. No one is gaining anything in the process and the information is misled and lost in the air, in the wild ocean, in the never ending pile of sand.

I would also like to mention the old, good, fashion way of connection with people.

How about making a phone call rather than sending a text message or chatting to someone online? Better yet, how about sending a letter or a card, rather than sending an email? How about seeing and experiencing someone’s handwriting? How about listening to somebody’s voice left on your voice messaging device?

How about having a skype phone and video conversation with someone?

Yes, nothing can certainly beat the face to face contact, the shoulder on shoulder, the hug given to another human being, the kiss sent and received, the light and sweet received on the cheek or both cheeks, the light pat on the back, that perfect and loving and sexy and passionate and caring and adorable and honest and amazing and sweet and awesome look you give and receive back to and from your very loved one, from the person of your dreams, from the one closest to you, from the one nearest to you?

Can something beat that? I doubt it!! J

We are social creatures, hungry and starving and craving for human touch and interactions and real face to face talks and chats and smiles and laughs and kisses and hugs and embraces and looks and feelings and passionate eyes, listening ears, shoulders to lean on, to cry on, to pat on.

As I am almost slowly yet surely nearing the end of this profound topic, I would love for you to think for a minute. Or for two minutes if need be.

Is there someone that you have not talked to for some time now?

Is there an unfinished business that needs your last finishing touch?

Is there something that needs to be cleared and discussed by no one but you?

Who is there you have been neglecting lately?

Can you go to bed tonight WITH the knowledge that this very particular person received your answer, your loving advice, your sweet reassurance?

Can you??
