WHEN
A MAN MEETS A WOMAN AND A WOMAN MEETS A MAN.
A
Love Story.
Where
should I begin?
Well,
it IS a love story… so what about with LOVE?!
“The
best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for
more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.
And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you
forever.”
There
is a story that I would like to share here with you…
It
is a beautiful story, gentle and innocent, safe & priceless,
soul(s) driven, open, honest, easy (?), teaching lessons on both
sides, sweet, nice and warm, full of fuzzy feelings, jittery, short
(?), challenging, natural & raw, sincere, interesting, curious,
tender, affectionate, nice, deep, decent, energetic, feelings filled,
purpose driven, caring, smiling, laughing, touching, joyful,
emotional, careful, mindful, spiritual, enjoyable, loving,
pitch-and-catch-kind-of one, passionate, receiving and giving,
respectful, daring, gentle, cute, kind, genuine, precious.
The
story begins quite unpredictably – neither of sides expecting
anything much to happen. But then on the second thought, maybe they
both were secretly wishing and dreaming and hoping for their
universes to collide! Well, thinking about it more deeply – they
must have been thinking, they must have been on the same wavelengths
and their thoughts must have been connected as they are the reason,
the product that brought those 2 souls together!
One
man.
One
woman.
One
story.
Their
connection was intense, energetic, immediate and fast! They hit it
off straight away. It was deep, intense and full of raw emotions,
organic and new feelings. Happy days ahead, new beginnings, and new
ends.
They
‘met’ on-line. Cyber space - modern - way of meeting and
mingling. I dare to say they both had no idea whatsoever how and
where this encounter of theirs would lead and end up. Every time she
posted an update about herself on Facebook, he would amend his
advertisement. He so desperately wanted for her to visit his place.
He would insulate the house, he would paint a room for her, he would
post a picture of a newly painted double bedroom, of a large patio
and at the end he would put: for short or long term!
So...
she decided to visit him, cold call him, see him again, call over to
him, meet with him. She knew his address from the advertisement she
had seen on-line.
She
was walking and nearing his house, getting closer and closer. She
looked up to check and see the window upstairs. As she was almost
close to his door, she passed his car (looking inside), someone
suddenly opened the door! It was him. He must have seen her through
the window. He wanted her to think he was waiting and hoping she
would come one day. He wanted for her to feel she was welcomed, safe
and secure and he never had any bad feelings for her, ever!
Everything went all so quick. She was so taken by a surprise that she
was not even sure if that was him. Then 2 questions had arisen within
her: First, is he coming out of the house, going outside? Second,
does he know who she is? Did he recognize her? Does he still
remember? Is he upset, angry with her?!
And
yes, he did recognize her. His words spoken were: ‘Hi. Are you
okay?’
She,
looking straight at him, answered: ‘Hi. Yes, I am okay.’
The
she said: ‘There is no gate there.’
He
asked: ’What’s that?’ Smiling. Happy.
She
said: ‘There is no gate there so I had to come up and ended up at
your door.’
He
smiled at her. His smile.
She
smiled back at him.
She
asked: ‘Are we going to stay outside or can I go inside for just 2
minutes, please?’
He
said: ‘Okay.’
She
said: ‘Thank you.’ Being in his house now.
He
was slowly and gently closing the door.
She
said: ‘It won’t take long. I guess you were not expecting me to
come?!’
He
smiled back at her.
She
asked: ‘So how are you?’
He
answered: ‘Good. Hmm. Studying.’ Pointing at the desk.
She
asked: ‘Oh, what do you study?’
He
answered: ‘For my master’s degree.’
She
glanced at the desk, then at the wall covered with the photos of
family and she smiled, pressing her lips and slowly turning behind
her, back, she noticed the entrance to his kitchen. She turned back
to face him. She smiled at him and looked him up and down. He looked
back at her and smiled.
He
asked her, quite nervously (now): ‘So, how are you?’
She
answered: ‘I am good. Ah. Actually not!’
He
looking at her, asked: ‘No, you are not good?’
She
answered: ‘I am more than that!’ Smiling.
He
is smiling. He said: ‘You are more than good?’
She
answered: ‘Yeah’.
Both
smiling and looking at one another.
He
looked her up and down. Twice. He wanted her to notice that! He so
showed how happy he was she was there with him, at this very moment,
now.
She
changed her position and said: ‘So… I came here because I wanted
to say – in person- ...’
He
interrupted and said: ‘Yes!’
She
looked at him and said: ‘Yes, because the email does not work.’
He
did not say anything. He held his cup which he then moved onto a
windowsill.
She
continued: ‘… Thank you for showing up in my life. I have learned
so much since then and I am still learning. It is amazing!’
He
asked her: ‘What is so amazing?’ He wanted her.
To
which she replied: ‘Everything. It started right after we had met.
I did what I wanted. Actually, I always did what I wanted.’
She
said: ‘There are a few, a couple of people in my life who have kind
of changed or directed my life in a certain way and I feel you are
one of them…’
He
was very surprised to hear that, shocked perhaps. Not expecting
anything like this to happen. But deep inside, he was very, very
happy to hear that and for it to be.
To
which he completely changed his position and said, smiling; ‘We met
only once or twice…’
To
which she replied: ‘Once. That was enough!’
He
smiled at her. He asked her: ‘How did you know where I live?’
She
answered: ‘On Daft.’
He
smiled at her. He wanted her to know he does not mind at all.
She
asked: ‘Why did you put up the ad on Daft?’
He
answered: ‘Oh, I was looking for a new flatmate at that time.’
She
said: ‘Ah, that makes sense.’
He
sensed the intensity and so did she.
He
changed his position again and pointing to the stairs leading
upstairs, he said: ‘I am living here now with my girlfriend and we
are expecting a baby.’
She
looked at him and said: ‘Ah, that is nice… Congratulations.’
He
said: ‘Thanks.’ Upset, angry with himself.
She
asked: ’When is the baby due?’
He,
irritated with himself, answered: ‘In April.’
She
asked: ‘Is it gonna be... a boy or a girl?’
He
answered: ‘We don’t know.’
She
said: ‘Oh… A surprise?’
He
said: ‘Yes.’
She
said: ‘That is nice.’
He
was getting closer to her now. He wanted to reassure her he was
sorry.
He
asked her, gently: ‘Are you still working with the children?’
She
answered: ‘Yes, it is going good.’
He
asked her again: ‘Do you live with the family?’
She
replied: ’No, I share the house with 2 people.’
He
asked: ‘How did you find the house?’
She
replied: ‘Oh, it just happened. I liked the house, I liked the
people.’
He
asked her: ‘Where do you live?’
She
replied: ‘Oh actually, it’s close here. On Suir Road.’
He
looking at her straight, said: ‘Yeah…’
They
were looking into each other’s eyes.
She
looking at him, said: ‘OKay, there is one more thing before I go…’
He
looked unhappy.
She
said: ‘I felt… I FEEL I owe you something from the last time. It
is a hug.’
He
immediately said: ‘Okay!’
She
said: ’I should have given it to you back then.’
They
were looking at each other for a couple of seconds. Then, he moved
towards her and gave her nice, long hug. She wanted to pull away
earlier from him, but he still held.
Once
they embraced, they were just a little happy.
Pulling
apart, she said, slowly: ‘OKay, I am done here.’ He looked
unhappy.
She
said to him: ‘Good luck with your study.’ Pointing at his desk.
He
said: ‘Thanks.’ He was crying out for her to like him at this
very moment, this very minute.
She
said: ‘And congratulations on your baby again. That is lovely, very
sweet. I am happy for you. I really am!’
They
were looking at each other.
She
then moved closer to the door which he slowly opened.
She
leaves the house and himself there.
She
heard the click of the door closing behind her by him. She never
looked back.
Enough,
enough now.
She
said to herself, ‘Thank you for loving me!’
He
said to himself, ‘Thank you for lovin’ me!’
And
all is well.
