George Bernard Shaw

George Bernard Shaw

“This is the true joy in life — being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one… being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake.
Life is no ‘brief candle’ to me. It is sort of a splendid torch which I have a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it over to future generations.”

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”
“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so sure of themselves, and wiser people are full of doubts.”
“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.”

v  Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance.

v  We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

v  The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

v Just do what must be done. This may not be happiness, but it is greatness.

v  Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

v  We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future.

v Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

v  People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.

v  If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience.

v  Use your health, even to the point of wearing it out. That is what it is for. Spend all you have before you die; do not outlive yourself.

v  A fool's brain digests philosophy into folly, science into superstition, and art into pedantry. Hence University education.

v  Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time.

v  Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.

v  Take care to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get.

v  Some look at things that are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

v  Choose silence of all virtues, for by it you hear other men's imperfections, and conceal your own.

v  There are two tragedies in life. One is to lose your heart's desire. The other is to gain it.

v  It is a curious sensation: the sort of pain that goes mercifully beyond our powers of feeling. When your heart is broken, your boats are burned: nothing matters any more. It is the end of happiness and the beginning of peace.

v  The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it.

v  The only service a friend can really render is to keep up your courage by holding up to you a mirror in which you can see a noble image of yourself.

v  Independence? That's middle class blasphemy. We are all dependent on one another, every soul of us on earth.

v  I am afraid we must make the world honest before we can honestly say to our children that honesty is the best policy.

v  The secret of being miserable is to have leisure to bother about whether you are happy or not. The cure for it is occupation.

v  When I was young, I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. So I did ten times more work.

v  A man of great common sense and good taste - meaning thereby a man without originality or moral courage.

v  No man who is occupied in doing a very difficult thing, and doing it very well, ever loses his self-respect.

v  The secret to success is to offend the greatest number of people.

v  A little learning is a dangerous thing, but we must take that risk because a little is as much as our biggest heads can hold.

v  Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.

v  You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.

v  The man with a toothache thinks everyone happy whose teeth are sound. The poverty-stricken man makes the same mistake about the rich man.

v  Only on paper has humanity yet achieved glory, beauty, truth, knowledge, virtue, and abiding love.

v  Perhaps the greatest social service that can be rendered by anybody to the country and to mankind is to bring up a family.

v  If you leave the smallest corner of your head vacant for a moment, other people's opinions will rush in from all quarters.

v  It is the mark of a truly intelligent person to be moved by statistics.

v  One man that has a mind and knows it can always beat ten men who haven't and don't.

v  The first condition of progress is the removal of censorship.

The only secrets are the secrets that keep themselves.

v  Miracles, in the sense of phenomena we cannot explain, surround us on every hand: life itself is the miracle of miracles.

v  We have no more right to consume happiness without producing it than to consume wealth without producing it.

v  Lack of money is the root of all evil.

v  Nothing is worth doing unless the consequences may be serious.

v  The possibilities are numerous once we decide to act and not react.

v  It's so hard to know what to do when one wishes earnestly to do right.

v  Most people do not pray; they only beg.

v  You cannot be a hero without being a coward.

v  What a man believes may be ascertained, not from his creed, but from the assumptions on which he habitually acts.

v  All my life affection has been showered upon me, and every forward step I have made has been taken in spite of it.

v  What we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not knowledge in pursuit of the child.

v  No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious.

v  Virtue consists, not in abstaining from vice, but in not desiring it.

v  Until the men of action clear out the talkers we who have social consciences are at the mercy of those who have none.

v  If there was nothing wrong in the world there wouldn't be anything for us to do.

v  In this world there is always danger for those who are afraid of it.

v  We learn from experience that men never learn anything from experience.

v  Men are wise in proportion, not to their experience, but to their capacity for experience.

v  Man can climb to the highest summits, but he cannot dwell there long.

v  Few of us have vitality enough to make any of our instincts imperious.

v  Life would be tolerable but for its amusements.

v  Every person who has mastered a profession is a skeptic concerning it.

v  We must always think about things, and we must think about things as they are, not as they are said to be.

v  Why, except as a means of livelihood, a man should desire to act on the stage when he has the whole world to act in, is not clear to me.

v  The truth is, hardly any of us have ethical energy enough for more than one really inflexible point of honor.

Everyone is SCARED!!

Everyone is SCARED!!

Surprise, surprise!!

You are not alone as everyone else is scared also.

Everyone around you is fighting his or her own battle.

Everyone craves for an attention.

Everyone wants to be seen.

Everyone wants to be heard.

Everyone wants to be listened to.

Everyone cries out for a kiss.

Everyone cries out for a hug.

Everyone cries out for snuggle.

Everyone cries out for a cuddle.

Everyone wants to be wanted.

Everyone wants to be needed in every way possible and even unimaginable.

We crave to be loved and we are here to give our love away. We are here to learn about the love and to embrace every single part of its meaning.

Yet, we are so damn scared. We are scared of everything. We are scared of being rejected. We are scared of being laughed at. We are scared to face our challenges or even certain people. We are scared out of our pants to go after our dreams in case we fail and we do not succeed. What the people around us will think of us? What are those people going to talk about with their neighbours? We are scared of taking examinations. We are scared of texting somebody in case she or he does not feel the same way about us as we do toward them. We may even be scared of going on trips on our own. We are scared of being lonely and left totally and completely alone. We are scared of our solitude. We are scared to put ourselves on the line. We are scared of losing our money. We are scared of losing our possessions one day. We are scared of having an accident.

We are scared of sending out our job applications. We are scared of closing the book deal. We are scared of even making decisions. We are scared of losing the battle with fight with our cancer. We are scared of eating too much. We are scared of eating just too little. We are scared of losing our children to drug abuse. We are scared of hitting the road with the wrong person. We are scared of getting pregnant. We are scared of getting/being/staying drunk. We are so scared that we stop living our life. We are scared of speaking our minds out. We are scared of sending out that card. We are scared of pushing the partner’s hot buttons. We are scared of sending out that letter. We are scared of sending that email.

We are scared of dreaming and of dreaming a lot and of dreaming often and of dreaming wild and of dreaming free and of dreaming passionately. We are scared of talking about our feelings. We are scared of speaking about our emotions. We are so scared that we would rather remain stuck in the house all day long, every single each day. We are scared to face the truth and laugh at it. We are scared to look ourselves into our very own eyes. We are scared of laughing out loud. We are scared of dealing with our difficulties and our problems and our challenges on a day to day basis. We are scared of burning our food. We may be scared of afraid of spiders, aeroplanes, other people, elevators, you name it.

We are scared of chatting to someone and tell him or her about what we think of them, how we see them, how we cherish them, what beautiful creatures they are to us.

We are scared of posting op that song of ours in case someone would be translated in the wrong way.

We are scared of losing that very person we have been fighting and going after for such a long time.

We are scared that one day our loved one will lose an interest in us.

We are scared of being sick and not being able to go to work.

We are scared of not waking up one day in the morning.

We are scared of so many things that we are even scared to think about them all.

We are scared of being sick and tired to the point of being sick and tired of being sick and tired.

We are scared of being bored. We are scared of having no real friends to play with, to have a laugh with, to have a pint with, to share our worries with, to share our joys with.

We are scared to be challenged too much every day.

We are scared of questions.

We may be scared of animals.

We are so freaking scared of the fact that we may be ugly and too small and too big or too stupid, or even too smart or too wise or too tall, or too clever or too travelled, or too rich or too poor.

I am scared. You are scared. We both are scared. Every single person on the face of the earth is scared.

Are we better off being scared?

Are you or me better than the next person sitting or standing next to us?

Are you or me better off with long hair or a short hair or a no hair at all?

Are you or me better off with this person or with the other person?

Whose life would you like to live?

Are we even scared of answering all the questions mentioned above? Why is that?

Can we admit to ourselves that we are truly and fully and honestly scared of many, many things over and over again?

What is the scariest thing of all things?

Can you dare to conquer it?

Can you deal with it?

Can you handle it?

Do you need somebody’s help?

Would you need somebody’s advice?

Would you need to build yourself up first?

Can you muster all of your worries, and scary things that run through your mind?

Do one thing every day that scares you!!

Thanks, but no thanks!

You do your math!!! J

Thank you very, very much for taking the time to read!!

Being in the flow........

Being in the flow........

What does being in the flow actually mean?

What does it take to get into a flow?

Have you ever experienced the state of being in the flow?

What does it mean to be in the zone?

Have you ever been engaged in an activity that the time literally stood still for you?

Have you ever lost completely the track of the time?

What gets you up and going the first thing in the morning?

What brings the juices inside you flowing wildly?

What is the greatest passion of yours?

What brings you the most joy?

What brings up the smile on your face?

Can you put the finger on it?

Can you name it?

Can you describe it?

Can you categorize it?

Can you put a name tag on it?

Can you deliver it at its best price?

I may or may not have written an article on this very subject or a similar topic of its kind before. Perhaps one of the reasons might be the fact how important this really in actuality is.

This very state of mind and this very state of being has many names and titles under which it has been shown before.

I have had profound experiences of my own about this. The times when I have been so engaged in a very activity I was doing or making or producing and acting upon.

How does reading a book work for you? Could you get yourself inside the heads of all the characters involved in the story? Could you relate to specific situations in the story? Would you be able to finish the book in a day from cover to cover? Would you be surprised at the time when you are finished reading?

How about making music? Could you go on and on without looking at the clock? Could you go a song after song and still never get tired of it? Would you play a tract after track of others and keep on commenting and appreciating their work of art? Would you be able to make music without the need to even go to bed to sleep, or without the need to eat any food at all? How many songs and tracks and tunes would you be able to absorb completely and immensely and immediately?

What about painting a picture and or a portrait? Is there any need for a break whatsoever? Is there a need for any sleep at all? Would you let you imagination go completely wild and free and crazy and mad and rebellious? Are you able to appreciate the art of others? Would you go and attend a gallery full of portraits of much more knowledgeable and experienced artists? How often do you change your palette? How often do you change your paint brushes? Do you only use the best equipment?

What about any sports activity? Are you a fan of any sport for that matter? Are you a massive fan of outdoor sports? Are you a huge fan of indoor sports? How often do you engage in this activity? Do you completely and utterly lose yourself in the game? Do you own the best gear of all gears there is in the world? Are you passionate about this almost that you cannot breathe if the day goes without you not being and acting on your favourite sports of all? What gets your adrenalin up and running and spiking crazily high? Do you enjoy a company of people interested in similar activities or would you rather prefer working out alone on your very own? Are you into summer activities and or sports or are you more or less a winter type of a person? How long have you been into your sport’s activity? Have you already won any prizes and or medals?

What about movies and theatres and performances? Are you bit of an actor? Are you bit of an actress? What would you the ideal movie/ a film that you would so love and wish to star? What sort of performance would you like to act in? Would you be interested in a making and performing your art in a musical? What film star is your role model? Who could be your guru? Who could be your mentor? Do you enjoy watching television? Do you regularly visit cinemas and or movies and a theatre?
What else could there be for a person or for anyone for that matter to get out of bed and get totally immersed himself or herself in an activity that passionately engages all of his or her senses on every level imaginable or even unimaginable? What pushes you out of your day each and every single day of the year? What would you be willing to do without the need to be paid for it? What would you love to volunteer in and still remain happy and contained? What would you be willing to do or be seen doing anyway without the need of an approval or without the need of anyone telling you to start off with this very project?

And once more again: What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

There are numerous activities we could possibly engage ourselves in.

There are also numerous activities that could literally bore us to death, to waste, to nothingness, to total and massive emptiness.

How well would you like to spend your life?

How well do you want to spend your life?

And now how bad do you really, really want it all to have in your possessions?

How hard are you willing to work?

How much are you willing to pay?

How far are you willing to go?

What are you willing to sacrifice in order to live the life of your dreams?

The person in question made yet another attempt yesterday. I am stoked. This person of mine deserves my attention and I am going to do my part that is for certain! J

HIGH MAINTENANCE PERSON (Wanna meet up?!)

HIGH MAINTENANCE PERSON
(Wanna meet up?!)

How difficult can it really get to find a person to stay with for the rest of your life?

How difficult can it really get to find a passion of yours that you will enjoy rising up to each and every single Monday morning?

How long can it possibly take?

How many days or weeks or months or years or even decades can it possibly take?

Have you found both of these, and even more?

Things that may seem to look easy to gain may turn out to be the very opposite of what we have thought previously in the first place.

What does high maintenance person require?

Does high maintenance person represent a positive figure to you?

Or does high maintenance person represent a negative figure to you?

Do you know a high maintenance person?

What characteristic traits would you grant a high maintenance person?

Depending on your answers, would you be interested in and up to meeting up with such a person?

What would, perhaps, the topic of your conversation be?

Would you choose a specific place to go to?

The answers we receive depend on the questions we're willing to ask. It's all a matter of discovering the particular questions that will help you to access more resourceful states. For example, if learning and progress are important to you, then a question such as "How can I use this situation to do even better in the future?" will be most effective in breaking a negative emotional pattern.

What would you think a high maintenance person requires to his/her happiness?

What do you require?

What would make you ultimately happy and satisfied and fulfilled?

Do some people have wild and crazy dreams and some are just able to dream without the need or the steps needed in enquiring and fulfilling your dreams?

To me, personally, it is a very good thing to possess and have the ability to show the world your true face, your true colours. If they like them, that is good. And if they do not like these, that is good, too. It is of course nothing personal and no offence taken.

Every one of us has an ideal picture in his or her mind of how the world our him or her should look like, like the people should behave, what the people should say or not to say for that matter, how they should dress up, how they should eat and what they should eat, how they should treat their children and spouses, how they should cook and prepare their food, how they should or should not drive their cars, what kind of transport they should use, what kind of flowers should be growing in their beautiful and lovely gardens, what time they should walk their dogs at, or if at all, how they should do their exercises, what sort of exercises they should do, how they should treat their servants if they have any and if they should have any servants for that matter in the first place also, how they should read their books and what sort of literature they should indulge in, what type of music should or should not be listening, what kind of groups they should belong to if any and what sort of groups they should avoid, what neighbourhood they should live in and when they should put their rubbish out, what sort of thoughts they should be having on a daily basis, what type of words they should use, what sort of friends they should go out with and what type of friends they should never call onto, what shops they should go to and what groceries they should bring home with them, what schools they children should attend to and when and how to organize their children’s play dates, who they should date and who they should not date under any circumstance, how long they should be dating for, what sort of gifts they should be receiving and what type of gifts they should be giving away, what colours they should be their favourite, where they should go on their honeymoons, who they should marry to, how many children they should have if any or if they should remain single for life, what parties and conferences they should attend to, what seminars they should go to and with whom, what countries they should visit and what else they should or should not be bringing along with them, what kind of visitors they should be having over, what kind of wine they should be drinking if any for that matter, what their relationships should look like and feel like, what they should be writing about in their journals if anything at all for that matter, where they should go on their field trips, what currency they should or should not be paying, what water they should or should not be drinking, what their chats and phone calls and messages and talks and speeches should be all about, with whom they should have a meaningful and stimulation conversation, what they should be putting in their statuses, etc.

This list could be very, very long if not unlimited. The more people there are, the more challenging it can obviously get! And we human beings have that special need to complicate things and make it bigger and huge and more massive that it is really looking like in a real world.

What do we do this to ourselves and to those around us and to the world in general?

This must be a paradox. Paradox about us and learning the lessons and teaching this to others if needed and if necessary!

Do we judge people?!

Every person we meet is our mirror in one way or the other. What do you like in particular about this person? What do you not like in particular about his very person?

Have you learnt to embrace and love and appreciate the very same things about yourself?
